The 13th Chess Olympiad occurred in the autumn of 1958 in Munich, West Germany. A total of 36 teams participated in the competition. The Soviet team, led by world champion Botvinnik and comprising 6 Grandmasters, secured their fourth consecutive gold medals. Yugoslavia and Argentina claimed the silver and bronze, respectively.
