Chess Olympaid 1966 stamps

A special set of stamps was released in honor of the 17th Chess Olympiad, which unfolded from October 23 to November 20, 1966, in Havana, Cuba. The tournament featured 52 teams vying for the top spot. The Soviet Union’s team, boasting six Grandmasters and spearheaded by World Champion Petrosian, achieved their eighth successive gold medal triumph. The United States and Hungary followed, securing the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
