The 15th Chess Olympiad was hosted in Varna, Bulgaria, from September 15 to October 10, 1962. It saw the participation of 37 teams. Dominating the event, the Soviet Union’s team, featuring six Grandmasters and headed by the reigning world champion Botvinnik, secured their sixth straight gold medal. Following them, Yugoslavia and Argentina claimed the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
