The 27th Chess Olympiad took place between November 14 and December 2, 1986, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For the first time, the number of participants in the Open tournament reached triple digits, with 108 teams taking part. In the Women’s Olympiad, 49 teams participated. The Soviet Union triumphed in both tournaments.The Olympiad bulletin served as a daily newspaper, containing information on standings, pairings, games, and articles about the event.
