Alekhine writing about the 1937 World Championship Match

Article dedicated to the 1937 World Championship Match, published in British Chess magazine on December 14, 1937, gave word to the World Champion himself. Alexander Alekhine writes from Rotterdam, describing the course of the match from his perspective and outlining his future plans. There is a curious footnote to this article regarding the word kibitzer, used by Alekhine: “The word ‘keibitzer’ and its derivatives, used by every chess player on the Continent and in America, are almost unknown in England. Briefly a ‘keibitzer’ is such a spectator as only chess can produce; one to whom to watch without advising, interrupting, praising and disparaging would be inconceivable”.
