The 9th Chess Olympiad took place between August 20 and September 11, 1950, in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia (present-day Croatia). Sixteen teams participated, with the host team emerging victorious, scoring 45½ points. Argentina secured the silver medal, and West Germany claimed the bronze.
